The Lunch Table
Think about the people around you — at school, in your neighborhood, on your team. Is there someone who might need kindness? Answer these questions:
Is there someone in your life who might feel like Sofia — left out, unseen, or alone? You don't have to name them. Just describe the situation.
What's one kind thing you could do for that person this week? It can be small — a smile, a hello, an invitation, a note.
Benny was afraid of it being 'awkward.' What fears stop you from being kind? How could you push past them?
Think about a time someone showed YOU unexpected kindness. How did it make you feel? What did they do?
If your school had an 'Open Table' like in the story, would you sit there? Would you volunteer to welcome new people? Why or why not?
